Since its inception, the Liberty Community Chorus has been directed by Bryan Taylor who had the dream to create an opportunity and environment for choral singing to occur throughout a singer’s adult years. Mr. Taylor has sung with the Grammy-winning Kansas City Chorale for the past 23 years and is Director of Music at Liberty United Methodist Church.
Mr. Taylor sang with the prestigious Robert Shaw Choral Workshop at Carnegie Hall with conductors Robert Shaw, Charles Dutoit, Andre Previn, James Conlin, Peter Schreier, Sir Neville Marriner and Helmuth Rilling.
From 1985-2000, Mr. Taylor was Director of Choral Studies at Kearney (MO) High School and has served as the Worship and Music Chair for the Missouri Choral Directors Association, and the Southwest Division of the American Choral Directors Association.
Mr. Taylor holds a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an undergraduate degree in Music Education (vocal/instrumental) from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO.
